418 COMMEMORATING 911 VICTIMS
CITY OF YELM
RESOLUTION NO. 418
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF YELM, WASHINGTON,
COMMEMORATING THE VICTIMS OF THE RECENT TERRORISM
ATTACK ON THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City ofYelm, Washington, wishes to express its deepest
sympathy to those who lost family and friends in the terrorism attacks on September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, city staff and citizens of Yelm, Washington, offer their
assistance and condolences to our nation, in light of the thousands of lives lost in this vicious attack
on America; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby resolves to unite with all Americans who strive for
freedom, justice, peace and security throughout the world, and
WHEREAS, the City Council reminds our community that America has faced many crises in
the past, and as we prepare to do so again, we must join together to defend freedom;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. Memorialize. To honor the memory of the thousands of victims lost in these
brutal attacks, to comfort those who lost loved ones, and to support the efforts of our nation's
leaders to guarantee freedom, justice, peace and security for the world's citizens and communities.
Section 2. Support. To encourage our community and its leaders to unite in the support of
the organizations and persons who are providing the much needed aid to the victims of this deadly
and evil attack on the United States of America.
Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage by
the Yelm City Council.
