409 DISASTER ASSIST FUNDS

RESOLUTION NO. 409
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING DESIGNATION OF REPRESENTATIVE TO OBTAIN
FEDERAL AND/OR STATE EMERGENCY OR DISASTER ASSISTANCE FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Yelm and its residents endured an earthquake of a
magnitude of 6.8 on February 28, 2001; and
WHEREAS, Thurston County was designated by the governor of the State of
Washington, Governor Gary Locke, to be a disaster area, thereby making funds
available if needed; and
WHEREAS, an authorized representative is needed to execute all contracts, certify
completion of projects, request payment, and prepare all required documentation for
funding requirements for federal and/or state emergency or disaster assistance funds on
behalf of the City of Yelm; and
WHEREAS, an alternative is needed if said representative is unavailable.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DOES RESOLVE,
AS FOLLOWS:
Shelly Badger, CAO is hereby designated the authorized representative, and Stephanie
Conners, Public Works Supervisor is designated the alternate, for and in behalf of the City
of Yelm, a public agency established under the laws of the state of Washington to obtain
federal and state emergency or disaster assistance funds.
