BUDGET WORK SESSION
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28,1997

. PRESENT: Kathy Wolf, Adam Rivas, Amos Lawton, Velma Curry, Martha Parsons, and
Don Miller. Guests: Glen Cunningham. Staff: Shelly Badger, Ken Garman, and Agnes
Bennick.
Ken Garman reviewed priorities for the Water Dept. for 1998. Additional funding will be
needed for the Corrosion Control Project, and to move forward with a meter reading
system. Water line repairs and replacement is ongoing, with some planned, and some
resulting from system breaks or leaks. Members discussed the water line replacemtns on
Edwards Street from Y elm Ave. to Crystal Springs S1. to be completed prior to the
Edwards S1. improvemtns.
Sewer Dept. priorities included installation of water reuse lines on Edwards, between
Yelm Ave. and Crystal Springs St. It is important that both the water and sewer line
replacements be completed prior to the Edwards St. improvements scheduled for 1998.
Shelly Badger pointed out that there had been some errors in the Street Dept. figures, that
have now been corrected.
Copies of the public notice announcing two additional work sessions on Tuesday,
November 4, and Thursday, November 13 were distributed.
