CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
BUDGET WORK SESSION
NOVEMBER 7, 1996
Mayor Wolf called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.
Council Present:
Martha Parsons, Velma Curry, Don Miller, Amos
Lawton and Adam Rivas.
Staff: Shelly Badger, Ken Garmann, Glenn Dunnam, and Agnes Bennick
Chief Dunnam stated that the two major areas in his budget for '97
are salaries and replacement of 2 vehicles. The replacement
vehicles are included in his budget along with $2-5,000 for
additional equipment for the vehicles.
Chief Dunnam gave an overview of the Mobile Data Device computer
terminals (2) planned for '97 and predicted a levelling off of
CAPCOM costs due to this technology.
Costs for phone upgrades for the Court and PD were reviewed. Staff
will follow up.
Ken Garmann reviewed the Water Dept. expenditures. A water rate
increase was discussed. Possible rate structuring was reviewed.
Additional information was requested for the next meeting.
The next meeting will inplude a preliminary step increase package
to be worked into the budget.
The meeting ended at 6:00 pm.
