1. Mayor Foster called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m
2. Present: Councilmember's: EJ Curry, Cody Colt, Molly Carmody, Tad Stillwell, Tracey
Wood, Jae De Pinto, and Terry Kaminski.
Staff present: City Administrator Michael Grayum, Public Works Director Chad Bedlington,
Community Development Director Grant Beck, Finance Director Joe Wolfe, Police Chief Tadd
Stancil and City Clerk and HR Manager Lori Mossman.
3. a. Presentation for Investment Grade Audit by 3ohnson Controls Inc. (JCI)
Peter White and Larry Owens with Johnson Controls Inc. gave a power point presentation on
potential cost savings to the City through an energy improvement plan. The money would be
used to upgrade the Wastewater Treatment Facility and renovations to other city owned
buildings.
3. b. Hazard Mitigation Plan
Todd Stancil presented a power point and description of the Hazard Mitigation Plan for the
Thurston Region. A Hazard Mitigation Plan must be adopted to be eligible for certain grant
funding. Todd will be bringing a Resolution to the last Council meeting in May for their
approval.
4. Mayors Report - no report
5. Council Initiatives
Councilmember Kaminski said the Home & Garden Show was great and the Bountiful
Families event was well attended last week.
Councilmember Wood asked about the pot holes in the Nisqually Plaza parking lot.
Councilmember Carmody STP is coming July 14th. Finance Committee has been talking
about the Senior Center Contract. Councilmember Carmody asked about naming of the streets.
Councilmember Stillwell asked about different dates for all the Councilmembers to attend a
Council Retreat.
Councilmember DePinto working with YMCA to set up some meetings.
Councilmember Colt attended the first Government Committee meeting today.
6. Executive Session - At 7:21 pm Council went into a 60 -minute Executive Session to
discuss the acquisition of real estate. City Attorney Brent Dille was present. RCW 42.30.110(b).
At 8:10 pm Mayor Foster reconvened the Study Session.
